SpyMovie Biography

Ex Mouse Eat Mouse founder Johnny White formed Spy Movie in 2007. Having completed touring and promoting
Mouse Eat Mouse's critically acclaimed debut album Mair Licht, he decided to leave and return to his
indie pop roots. The decision was made the second Johnny first heard Camera Obscura's
Let's Get Out of This Country. He bubbled, like a big baby.

Kat King and David Mitchell , who've played with various bands in Glasgow , joined and began writing furiously.

The key to Spy Movie's sound is Kat's soaring folky vocals and David's jangling guitars.
Various people help them out on other instruments. Spy Movie songs are kind of poppy and indie
kind of folky and kind of rocky. Not too jangly though, as there's an edge to the words....
It's Joy Divison meets Camera Obscura, It's The Pastels for people who watch Skins.
Our mission is to produce well-crafted, literate,heart-breaking pop. That simple really :)
